The manufacturing of Cold Rolled (CR) coils is carried out using the rolling (metalworking) processes. For CR coils, the temperature of the steel is maintained below its re-crystallization temperature (usually room temperature).

The metal is first melted to a temperature below the re crystallization and then goes through the process where these are passed through roll in order to obtain the desired thickness.
